Basically:
Prerequisite for the use of the HomePilot is a router or a DSL modem with router function with switched on DHCP function and a free LAN port. After connecting the HomePilot, an IP address is assigned dynamically. The IP address is assigned to the name (factory default host name: HomePilot).
Check LAN connection:
If you operate the HomePilot via LAN, please check if the Ethernet cable is plugged into the HomePilot correctly. There are small LEDs on the LAN port of the HomePilot that flicker or flash when a connection is active. If this is not the case, check the connection. If necessary, use a different Ethernet cable and/or port on the router. If using a switch or similar, test connecting the HomePilot directly to the router. If even then no LED on the LAN port flickers or flashes, please contact our Service department
Check W-LAN connection:
If you are operating the HomePilot via W-LAN, check the router interface to see if there is a connection from the HomePilot to the router. If the HomePilot is not listed as an active device in the router, please establish a connection via Ethernet cable. If you have established a connection and can operate the HomePilot again, please re-enter the W-LAN data.
Requirements in the network:
To be able to reach the HomePilot in the local network, you must be in the same network with the computer or smartphone. Be aware that restrictions in the router such as parental controls, guest network, etc. may prevent communication.
Calling up HomePilot via smartphone:
If you have the HomePilot app installed on your smarthone, select Settings > Current Device > click the plus sign.
If the smartphone is on the same network as the HomePilot, the HomePilot will appear as a new device.
If the HomePilot is not found automatically, you can alternatively enter the IP address of the HomePilot.
Where can I find the IP address of the HomePilot?
The IP address is assigned by your router, so the first option is to search for the IP address in the router. Please refer to the manual of the router. If the name of the HomePilot is not listed in the router, at least the MAC address or UID of the HomePilot must be entered. The MAC or UID address can be found on the bottom/back side of the HomePilot.
Another possibility is a network scan, which displays all devices on the network. This can be done very easily with a smartphone and a corresponding app. E.g. Fing (available for free in the Store), please note that the smartphone must be in the same network.
Call HomePilot via PC:
Use a standard computer with a current browser and enter http://homepilot.local in the browser line. With some browsers, access is via http://homepilot.
If you have changed the host name of the HomePilot, please enter the new name instead of homepilot.
If the interface of the HomePilot is not established, the call can alternatively be made via the IP address, which must be determined accordingly.
Establish connection via WR-Connect:
If the HomePilot has already been registered on the WR-Connect server, please check the connection status. Log in with your access data https://portal.homepilot.de/login
If the connection cannot be established in the local network, for example because static IP addresses have been assigned, it may still be possible to reach the HomePilot via the server. If this is the case for you, you should first create a backup file. In the Settings > Network section, you can then check the network settings and deactivate static IP if necessary.
