A Somfy io motor cannot be controlled directly with the SmartHome Box via radio, as the two radio protocols are different. However, there is a possibility, which we show here.
You need:
1x Somfy flush-mounted transmitter io article no. 1822609
1x RADEMACHER motor actuator potential-free 9471-2 Art. No. 35140663.
Procedure:
- Connect the two devices as described in the picture. The radio transmitter is battery-operated, the motor actuator requires 230V potential-free.
Important: The Com line must be bridged to both relay inputs. - Select the tubular motor mode on the Somfy flush-mounted transmitter.
(Press the Prog. button several times until the lower LED next to the M lights up red). - Register the flush-mounted transmitter io on your Somfy receiver according to the operating instructions.
- Register the Rademacher motor actuator potential-free as usual on the SmartHome Box and assign a name and description. Measure the maximum running time of the motor and enter this in the device settings under Running time.
- The Somfy wireless tubular motor can then be controlled via the SmartHome Box.
Wiring diagram
This solution can also be used, for example, to control awning radio tube motors from Somfy, provided that they are compatible with the Somfy flush-mounted transmitter io article no. 1822609.
Important notes:
- The application shown here assumes that the Somfy radio tubular motors work with io radio technology. Tubular radio motors with the older RTS technology cannot be controlled in this way.
- Up to 20 io devices can be controlled in parallel with the Somfy flush-mounted transmitter. This means that if you want to operate all existing Somfy io radio motors (up to 20) centrally via the SmartHome Box, you only need the combination shown above once.
- The status of the controlled motor can only be displayed correctly in the SmartHome Box if it is controlled exclusively via the SmartHome Box or via RADEMACHER transmitters that are registered directly on the motor actuator.
If the motor is controlled via Somfy transmitters, the status in the SmartHome Box is not adjusted. This point is particularly important if the controlled motor is automated. In this case, you should only use RADEMACHER products for control.
