A Somfy io motor cannot be controlled directly with the HomePilot, because the two radio protocols are different, but there is a possibility, which we show here.
You will need:
1x Somfy flush-mounted transmitter io item no. 1822609
1x RADEMACHER motor actuator potential-free 9471-2 art. No. 35140662.
Procedure:
- Connect the two devices as described in the picture. The radio transmitter is battery operated, the motor actuator potential free requires 230V.
Important: The com line must be bridged to both relay inputs. - Select the tubular motor mode on the Somfy flush-mounted transmitter.
(Press the Prog. button several times until the lower LED next to the M lights up red). - Register the flush-mounted transmitter io with your Somfy receiver according to the operating instructions.
- Register the Rademacher motor actuator potential-free as usual to the HomePilot and assign a name and description. Measure the maximum runtime of the motor and enter it in the device settings under runtime.
- This way the Somfy radio tubular motor can be controlled via the HomePilot.
Wiring diagram
This solution can also be used to control Somfy radio tubular awning motors, for example, provided that they are compatible with the Somfy flush-mounted transmitter io article no. 1822609.
Important notes:
- The application shown here assumes that the Somfy radio tubular motors work with the io radio technology. The radio tube motors with the older RTS technology cannot be controlled in this way.
- With the Somfy flush-mounted transmitter, up to 20 io devices can be controlled in parallel. This means that if you want to control all existing Somfy io radio motors (up to 20) centrally via the HomePilot, you only need the combination shown above once.
- The status of the controlled motor can only be displayed correctly in the HomePilot if it is controlled exclusively via the HomePilot or via RADEMACHER transmitters that are registered directly to the motor actuator.
If the motor is controlled via Somfy transmitters, the status in HomePilot will not be adjusted. This point is particularly important if the controlled motor is automated. In this case you should only use RADEMACHER products for control.
