Two factors were decisive in the development of the battery-powered DuoFern radiator actuator. Firstly, the optimal accessibility of the DuoFern radiator actuators throughout the house via radio, and secondly, the longest possible battery life with optimal behavior of the temperature control at the same time.
In general, the accessibility of all our DuoFern products is optimal due to the bi-directionality and the routing function of our DuoFern radio protocol and is therefore always given in comparison to products of the competition, even with our battery-powered DuoFern radiator actuator.
However, since energy is required for each radio connection, we have optimized the radio communication of the battery-powered DuoFern radiator actuator for operation within the HomePilot system. This is the only way to achieve a battery life of up to 2 years with conventional and inexpensive AA cells.
For this reason, the stand-alone function of the battery-powered DuoFern radiator actuator is not possible in direct combination with the DuoFern room thermostat.
You can, of course, use the HomePilot to trigger any scenes by the room thermostat when predefined temperature thresholds are exceeded or undershot and thus also specify the setpoint temperatures of several DuoFern radiator actuators.
