The Troll Comfort DuoFern has two configurable inputs E1 and E2 (230 V / 50 Hz) for connecting
external signal transmitters (e.g. blind switches / environmental sensors etc.).
The following configurations are possible:
[ 0 ] Off
[ 1 ] UP (shutter mode)
[ 2 ] DOWN (shutter mode)
[ 3 ] UP (shutter mode)
[ 4 ] DOWN (shutter mode)
[ 5 ] UP / Stop / Down
[ 6 ] Switch automatic mode on/off (normally open contact, NO)
[ 7 ] Switch automatic mode on/off (normally closed contact,NC)
[ 8 ] External wind signal, NO
[ 9 ] External rain signal, NO
NOTE
If the manual mode is active, the inputs are not taken into account (the wind function excepted).
Both inputs are configured independently.
By factory default both external inputs are set to 0, accordingly the external pushbuttons have
no function.
Application 1:
Control for tubular motors:
Select under the menu item 9-8-6
for input 1 = 1 UP
for input 2 = 2 DOWN
Jalousie pushbuttons (recommendation) or switches can be used for control. If the button
is pressed briefly, the troll switches to self-holding and moves the roller shutter completely UP or
DOWN. A further pushbutton command during the movement stops the motor.
Application 2:
Control for external venetian blinds:
Select under menu item 9-8-6
for input 1 = 3 UP (blind mode)
for input 2 = 4 DOWN (blind mode)
Blind pushbuttons must be used for control. If the pushbutton is pressed briefly,
the troll switches only briefly in order to be able to tilt the slats of the external venetian blind.
This jog function allows a comfortable adjustment of the externalvenetian blinds.
If the button is held for more than 2 seconds, the troll switches to self-holding and moves the roller shutter completely UP or DOWN. A further key command during the movement stops the motor.
Application 3:
UP / Stop / Down:
Select under the menu item 9-8-6
for input 1 or 2 = 5 UP / Stop / Down
With this application you can operate the roller shutter with a single-pole push button.
The switching sequence is UP / Stop / Down / Stop / Up /....
In this function, the motor cannot be moved specifically in one direction, but uses the
counter command in its own logic.
Application 4:
Automatic manual changeover:
Select under the menu item 9-8-6
for input 1 or 2 = 6 or 7 (depending on which type of contact you use)
Switch automatic mode on/off
You can switch off the automatic mode of the troll, for example, to prevent the roller shutter from closing when the window is open. You can also deactivate the automatic mode on all connected trollsvia a central switch, so that the shutters do not close automatically if you wish, e.g. if you have visitors and do not want to sit behind lowered shutters all at once.
Application 5:
Wind detection:
Select under the menu item 9-8-6
for input 1 or 2 = 8 wind
Switch additionally the menu item 7 to ON and set the desired direction of travel by an external wind sensor and its evaluation electronics 230V is switched to the selected input of the troll, this is evaluated by the troll as wind and the troll moves the motor in front set direction and locks the manual and automatic operation until the 230V signal is switched away.
Application 6:
Rain detection:
Select under the menu item 9-8-6
for input 1 or 2 =9 Rain
Switch additionally the menu item 8 to ON and define the desired direction of travel 230V
is switched to the selected input of the troll by an external rain sensor and its evaluation electronics, this is evaluated by the troll as rain and the troll moves the motor in the preset direction and locks the automatic operation until the 230V signal is switched away. Manual operation is possible when rain is active.
