Resetting the HomePilot should always be the last option to solve a problem. In some cases, however, the reset may be necessary. For example, if you have assigned a static IP address for the HomePilot and have a router change or have forgotten the HomePilot's local password, a reset is helpful.
If possible, you should create a backup file before the reset.
HomePilot (9496-3)
Reset via button on the device
- Disconnect the power supply by unplugging the power supply unit.
- Press and hold the reset button
- Restore power.
- Press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds until the red LED lights up after flashing.
- The reset is now performed and the button can be released

HomePilot 2 (9496-2)
Reset via button on the device:
To reset the HomePilot to factory settings, press button 2 on the back of the device (figure no. 3) for approx. 10 seconds . The power LED will start flashing green and orange.
Attention: During this procedure ALL settings and all registered devices will be deleted. Before doing this, make sure that you have created a backup file under Maintenance.
Reset via USB stick:
Alternatively, the reset can be performed using a USB stick on which a specific file type is created.
To do this, insert a memory USB stick into your Windows computer and open it.
Right click and and select "New" text document.
Check if the file name extensions are displayed in this view. There must be .txt displayed behind "New Text Document". If txt is not displayed, turn it on under View.
Now enter the following file name. .txt must be overwritten.
reset_all.yes_i_am_sure
Disconnect the power supply of the HomePilot and insert the USB stick with the new file name into a free USB port of the HomePilot.
A reset is performed during the boot phase - the HomePilot checks whether there is a file with a suitable name on an external medium (USB stick or SD card).
If one or more corresponding file(s) are found, the corresponding areas are deletedFinally, the
found reset files on the stick are deleted to prevent an unintentional reset if the customer does not remove the USB stick.
Disconnect the power supply of the HomePilot.
Finally, remove the USB stick from the HomePilot and start the HomePilot.
The corresponding area has been reset.
