Range
Depending on the local conditions and the type of lamp socket, ranges of up to 30m are possible in practice.
The position of the HomePilot also plays a role.
The following points should be taken into account when selecting the installation location of the HomePilot®.
- Look for an installation location in your household that is as central as possible to ensure an optimal connection to your devices.
- Avoid an installation location near metallic surfaces or objects. An installation location in the basement should be avoided if possible.
- Since electronic devices may also cause interference, you should keep a certain distance.
Routing
The addZ lights work with the Zigbee radio standard 3.0. With the Zigbee radio standard, commands are automatically routed from all lights if no direct radio connection can be established to the device to be controlled. The network organizes itself completely automatically.
IMPORTANT:
Only the illuminants that are directly registered with the HomePilot will help with routing. For example, if you use Philips Hue or IKEA tradfri lights, they must be registered directly to the HomePilot. You should make sure that you have one large Zigbee network and not many small ones.
Please note that devices only organize themselves automatically (specify alternative routes in the wireless network) if they are supplied with 230Volt. For example, if a light fixture is turned off by a light switch, it will not be able to specify alternative routes for other light fixtures accordingly.
Note:
DuoFern products do not support the routing of addZ products, because they work with a different radio protocol.
